Birthday Banner Web App
A creative banner-making app with an AI writing companion.
The brand wanted a birthday banner tool that felt creative and playful without becoming visually chaotic — and needed a way to help users who freeze when asked “what should the banner say?”
I built the visual language on a pink, purple, and orange gradient palette that carries celebration without leaning on party clichés, then designed a simple in-app editor for users to lay out their own banners.
The centerpiece is Bibi, an AI buddy that writes birthday wishes on demand — turning the blank-page problem into a conversation, and giving users a starting point they can then edit.
Field Notes
Users came to make a banner and got stuck writing the message. The tool needed to help them start, not just format.
Introduced Bibi — an AI companion whose only job is to offer three warm, editable wish drafts based on the person the banner is for.
The app became less of a design tool and more of a small creative collaborator, with the editor as its canvas.
